Back to you, Mary F. You have obviously never worked in a restaurant. If I were president, every American would have to work at least one customer service job before they are legally considered an adult. I believe this would solve a lot of problems. Everyone would be forced to “get a grip” i.e. gain a little fucking perspective. 

The thing is, time passes differently for restaurant customers, specifically those who have never worked in a restaurant, in the sense that it is incorrect. If a customer says they’ve been waiting for 20 minutes, in real-time, it is closer to 8 to 12 minutes. This is 100% true and makes serving, at times, a really annoying job. If waiting is so difficult for you and your family, Mary F., might I suggest a couple of solutions:

1. Cook at home! 

2. Sit at the table and talk to the people you’ve chosen to dine with. 

3. If you find suggest #2 difficult, perhaps bring a deck of cards, or play hangman! 

4. Look at your phone. (This seems to be socially acceptable these days)

5. As Kelly S., suggested, notify someone that you’re in a hurry. You might still have to wait, but at least you tried. 

6. Ask for a job application. 

My main issue is that in your review, you’ve explained exactly why you had to wait: They got an unexpected rush.
