Thank you, Re P., Pikeville, KY for your review of Bank 253 in Pikeville, KY.

I was recently in Scottsdale, AZ, which is basically one giant shopping mall with a Barry’s Boot Camp on every corner and two-named corporate restaurants in either a dark color palette (Bourbon and Beards, Whiskey and Ashtrays, Meat Sweats and Plaid, etc) or a light color palette (Farm and Fresh, Olives and Lilacs, Yoga and Percocets, etc). Bank 253, is the Pikeville, KY version of this, and you’ve just quoted their mission statement verbatim (minus the incorrect spelling of ‘geriatric’).

You might have felt this was a one-star experience, but in reality, you need to adjust your expectations. This is exactly the experience they are offering. Even people on the cusp of death are leaving their homes to dine here. It can’t be that bad, it’s just not unique.

Also, in this economy, old men with credit cards might be valuable information for some… if you catch my drift.

One out of five stars.

See you next Tuesday.
